How do electronic fabric and woven fabric inspection devices differ?

For electronic fabric density, yarn width, and gap area, review the electronic fabric device. For warp and weft density across woven structures, evaluate the woven fabric density tester. Confirm each model’s scope, timing, and report fields separately.

Select by measurement task

TW-E-LW-N-01 measures electronic fabric density, yarn width, and gap area. TW-E-H-IR-01 primarily measures woven fabric yarn density. Electronic fabric width and gap-area functions should not be attributed to the woven fabric tester.

Check ranges and units

The woven fabric model states 40–300 yarns/inch and 1–6 cm measurement length for single-layer fabric without hidden yarns. Check the electronic fabric model’s own technical table and sample evaluation. Convert yarns/cm and yarns/inch to the same unit before comparing.

Compare timing on the same task

The woven fabric timing is 30 seconds/inch including the report; total time depends on length, directions, and operation boundaries. Historical electronic fabric material used 20, 30, or 45 seconds under different descriptions. The current product page requires confirmation by sample and scan range. Request the model, software version, and complete timing record.

Evaluate your samples

Provide material, weave, density range, target report fields, and daily sample volume. Arrange a sample test or demonstration before confirming the configuration and method.

Electronic fabric widths and local regions

Video 72 uses different units for density and width. Width statistics include a mean, D10, D90, and range; selecting a local region changes the results. Video 69 shows Excel export. These demonstrate the electronic fabric workflow rather than establish output functions for the woven fabric tester.
