How should fiber diameter equipment be selected and accepted?

Compare material scope, measurement error, repeatability, sample throughput, and report review separately. Evaluate your own samples before agreeing on the model, configuration, and acceptance conditions.

Define the inspection task

Record daily sample volume, manual measurement time, differences between operators, review requirements, and automation needs. Compare the same samples under the same statistical requirements when evaluating automation.

Separate precision metrics

Software calculation precision of 0.01 μm is not the complete instrument measurement error. The final image pixel scale of ≤0.085 μm/pixel for the highest 100× configuration is also not the total error. Accuracy requires reference comparisons; repeatability requires repeated measurements.

Use representative samples

Include routine batches and difficult samples. Record preparation, scan region, effective counts, mean, distribution, and individual-fiber images. Separate rescanning the same slide from preparing new slides; redisplaying one result is not a repeat experiment.

Confirm delivery and training

Check slide loading, report and image storage, export, training, and service response. Quotations should identify the model and configuration rather than rely on the shortest advertised time.

Distinguish preparation from automated operation

Videos 33 and 46 show manual registration, magazine loading and removal, followed by internal slide handling, scanning, and reporting. Record preparation, loading, instrument operation, and review time separately.
